For the Love of Music, the Words

I can hear it in the fabric
singing silk and touching velvet
when music takes a shaking hand
from what was ache to grace
I know you understand

Not always a band   this sound’s alive
a filigree of light and shadow
holding warmth inside like glove
causing all who hear sweet nectar
to know the rhyme is love

Take this canister it’s filled
with gold and given without greed
or return request to plant the seed
for in the bloom that music makes
there’s no mistaken beat or bramble
within the opening gate
that plants a pulse so true
that melody is swept from sky
to you   the sound   for you
-------

Hi Pip friends....it has been a long time...my muse is such a wimp, she hides from words, how absurd!!
She got inspired this morning though, and forgot to be afraid, you know?  She listened with heart instead of with sleeve and let me write, I can hardly believe.  Was music the master all along, that sowed my gown and gave me strong....she said to me with much delight, sticking my tongue out at her seemed right.. Still she loves the music and I love the ink....and sometimes we harmonize, I think.

Hi, Martie Flowers! If music makes your word garden grow, then please listen to the bluebells and write on!

I was about to send an angel posse after you! Your sweet poetic presence has been sorely missed!

Giving you a great big loving hug,
Linda

That is beautiful.

Sometimes a wait can produce something lyrical - I liked the (unintentional?) internal meter to this. A few not-quite-rhymes, intermixed on some lines to make me feel a slight back beat rhythm as I read.

Well done Martie

Ah sweet Martie..here you are..
and what a song your muse sings for all of us today!
Beautiful indeed.
I'm so pleased to see you here again..
You've been missed.

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

Dearheart, I do believe
that this poem has bloomed
at just the right time.

Your muse, she knew
what was going on...

And you've even given me
some food for thought!

When excellence speaks of excellence....listen. And what better voice to speak of the music we share here, than one whose voice is beloved? Sing, Martie, sing!

Beautiful music produces great thoughts and great thoughts produce great music.
How fortunet to be the bearer of both.

A day without music, like a day without poetry, is not to be endured...write on my friend.
