Subtle Amnesties

My love bears a warrior spirit within his breast
Slaying dragons, left in abject wasteland rest
Building fortress to restrain approaching steed
To the victor goes the spoils in proceed

To my eyes, by far a gentler giant looms
More than stature but the heart that love presumes
Spirit wind, the sky above least by restraint
Blue his colors strength and honor seldom paint

All I know of him adventures quite a while
Certain elegant allure and earthy style
Means pursuant to the principals instilled
Sentimental on the quiet side of thrilled

He is looking for a windmill in the sun
Looking past me, in decisions said and done
Yet the power of devotion is my guide
As the strength that fuels my very will abide

Though not a chain has kept the link his heart to mine
My sword of truth is sheathed in temperance and time
And lift him up, to gather greatness, as he will
With all my might, the essence of, to love him still

Damn I loved this poem. Your creativity brings delight to a readers eyes. You did a awsome job on this poem. The title was perfect. The last stanza was heartbreaking and hopeful. Kudos (click and saved to my library)
