Freedom Lost
By Paul Wilson

Half past midnight
darkness paints the way
from here to there
(you know of where I speak)
behind locked doors

Coldness of shadows
touch the inner you
(burning)
as you stare at the emptiness
left by today

Hurry before the keeper
collects his toll once again
fade into the shadows
obscure to the world
(as most know it)

Speak not (our mind)
least we become labeled
(trouble makers)
scorned by most
reform and conform
freedom of speach
(a passing memory)

The young
must never know
of books and papers
we are told
as March winds
suppress our will

Half past midnight
darkness paints the way
from here to there
(you know of where I speak)
behind locked doors

To teach our children
of the past
and the freedom
we once had

Paul,
As comes our life so comes freedom with our death.
A good write, thank you.

tru...Yes it does seem like we lose a little more freedom to do the things and believe in the things that we want too. I really appreciate your reply...Paul

Freedom is seldom appreciated until it is gone.
Beautifully scribed food for thought.

btw I trust you enjoyed the food that your wife had lovingly prepared for you!

Happy birthday, Dear Paul! May the coming year be one of wonder, peace, prosperity, vibrant good health and joy!

Giving you a big birthday hug and a pinch to grow an inch!
