.

In this least
little vessel
made of love—
I’ll finally rest the day I met you
dressed in blue

That autumn night
beneath your stars—
the moment I saw you close those eyes
placing a hand in mine

The way your hair
spread in the wind—
over the pillow as we lay together
under an amber moon

Words we said
will go as well
All I was
when you were near—

Cast adrift
without recourse
into a nameless universe

Free
at last
in time’s indifference—

and away from harm
by lesser gods

.

I wish that I could write with such ease.
Very nicely done.
