Parts of Living

Through birth
we gain our entry
into this world and
those that proceed
us welcome us and
bless our beginning.

Through living, we learn
how to accept and reject,
love and forgive, and how
to hold on and let go.

Through the process of
losing loved ones we learn
not to hold on too tight,
and to give those that pass
on before us the dignity to
grow old, become sick and die.

But we have the hope that their passing
takes them to where we will meet them again, someday and forever.
