I think I'm in a reflective mood today... more thoughts of my first love, I can't remember if I have posted this one before or not, my apologies if I have...  RDB

It’s your Birthday today
And my thoughts have been of you my love
I wonder what you would be like at 45
I wonder what lessons you would have learned
I wonder what loves you would have had
I wonder how your features would have changed
I wonder if I would still be part of your life today
My memories are so full of you and the things we shared
Those sparkling brown eyes that would melt me with every look
That cheeky mischievous smile that would bring laughter my way
The red tousled hair that never was tamed and that I would never tame
Your generous spirit and kind hearted words
Your fun loving nature and the unfortunate need for speed on that fateful day
I wonder if you knew how much I was in love with you
I wonder if you knew
I wish I could have been your love
You will always be mine

Be kind at heart....for everyone you meet has a battle to fight.........<\b>

I love your writings...so subtle, no hidden messages. I dont have to re-read it a million times to try to figure out what you are saying. In your critique you say "I have never really considered myself a Poet, I just write things from my heart

I think some of us poets worry to much about meter, structure, and mind boggling words and forget whats on our hearts at the moment. ~Bill

writing things from your heart is always an with an embossed signature on it....and what makes a poet unique....no fear of putting feelings down in words...meter, rhyme, no matter...to each his own...and I don't know when critique will understand, it is not what is trendy, it is about the person inside, what they enjoy, what they don't enjoy...and I believe so much really good material today, is passed by, due to aloof critiques who perceive they know it all...sad....
your writes are soul searching lessons...enjoyed by many, thank you always for sharing....

This is lovely Roniece...one never fogets their first love.  The memory of that intoxicating feeling, lasts a lifetime, even when the love itself fades.

We all tend to reflect back upon our first love at times throughout our lives and wonder how or who they would be now. What a nice reflective piece.
Thanks so much for the comment on my poem They Never Knew. I am in that group of Passion's first members though don't come "home" as often as I'd like anymore. There are hundreds of my poems in the archives

No apologies necessary...

our first loves are so very special.

Some, more than others.

But then there are third
fifth

and seventh loves...

all should be
remembered as fondly.

Well done, Roniece

Enjoyed fully.

A first love is a precious thing.  And one that ends before it really starts is a tragedy, but also--it never spoiled, life never crushed it.  I like the way you wrote this one, it's simple and straight-forward, and touching.

Reflection is good if done with love as this obviously was, and when reflection is good hearing it again doesn't matter.

a good commitee can decimate communication.

Ah ... the blessed remembers of that 'first love' ...

Mine still lives in the same town I live in ... we are truly good, good friends ... we've often discussed the what if's and we both agree that we would pick one another all over again~
