Here, Now, Forever

i cant promise you anything
but i offer you a plentiful amount of skipping stones
judging by the gentle ebb and flow of the tide
it seems that me and you share a special place
somewhere among the distant, endless stars
that sweep across the cold horizon
when i find myself swimming in a lake
on a dark night by myself
everyday
without you
i long for the end of this world and all the people in it
so me and you can be together again
i could bring you a flower to prove it
or cast my stone into the blue moonlit water
and watch as it skips away from me
while, lo and behold, you remain in my mind always
a part of me
always there
you are the most wonderful disease i have ever had
i draw strength from the orange and the kiwi
in the throes of your spirit
nevertheless,
the sky will fall and the sun shall burst
and the universe will take a deep breath
and collapse into itself again
the stone will sink fast into the lake
where i shall sit on the edge of the dock
and watch the most glorious sunrise appear through the mist
waiting for you

Well, bless your romantic sweet soul! Your words left me breathless ~ and wanting to read more!

Uniquely creative phrasing! I loved this! So good to read your poetry again! Don't be such a stranger!

Loving Light,
