christopher robin called tonight
midnight his time
to play guitar
sing
jockey full of bourbon
two pair of pants and a mohair vest
superheroes
crawling on the planet’s face
creatures called the human race
a little bob marley
we don’t need no trouble
what we need is
swan swan hummingbird
6/8 time
D minor

goodbye to my juan
goodbye rosalita
adios mis amigos
jesus y maria

fingers filled with childhood
voice of stone love
across the country
christopher robin called
sang his life

to the woman who brought him to it

The love of mother and son is forever special.  Always, their first love...enduring and precious.
Smiled that he sang to you...I have had that pleasure also in my life

They grow far too rapidly
and even now, I wonder
what of that childhood
do they remember?

Can it be anything?
like ours?

oh Karilea
such a wonderful question
christopher robin may remember the songs I sang to him
but he remembers the rest of his childhood
in his own way
and I in another

this is the way of life
yes?

My son sings to me also..
and his name? ... Christopher

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

"fingers filled with childhood
voice of stone love
across the country"

Ahhhhhhhhh ... how dear!  Your son called and sang to you.  I love knowing this fact!

My three sons do not sing to me.  One calls to assure me that he is safe, he is in the Marines and he knows I fret over him always.  Another calls to fill me with delight over new adventures my two granddaughters are exploring.  And the youngest calls usually to either ask for an edit to a college paper or for ... money.  *wink wink*  But a call is a call ... communication is the BEST from those you love!

I adored this "voice of stone love"

always seeking joy, adventure and romance and wishing you find the same

ahhh... phone calls from children Janette

when Christopher calls I always tell him I have not eaten in 38 days

and he says
I know
you didn't want your mouth to be full if I called

yup... a call is a call
and your Marine is in my prayers

Dear Kate

"Christopher Robin is saying his prayers"...one of the first things I memorized when I was a girl.  I have two sons and a phone that doesn't ring often enough.  Loved this poem!!

thank you Martie

that quote is so dear to me
not many mothers would actually name their son Christopher Robin...

and oh how I hear your mother's heart
when you say your phone doesn't ring
often enough

OhSweetLadyKate~

I adore the ALL of this~

I've a daughter and three sons ... all musical ... each with their own songs for mom~

The singing is a blessing dear mother of Christopher Robin~

What a wonderfully nostalgic piece this is~

thank you poetess

it is indeed a blessing
when my son calls to sing to me
and this week he comes
from the far reaches of Florida
to sing to me in person
