I'll sing a little song,
Though
I never learned to play a lyre,
I never could see past the clouds,
Space is frightening
A lonely place.
An obsession with living,
I dislike public speaking,
I dislike all those things
That creep and crawl in the dark.
I never learned to play a lyre
Never could see past the clouds,
Could never see six feet under me,
Space is frightening
a lonely place,
Never could climb up that slope,
To that false building
On top of a hill.

I think it is never too late to learn to play a lyre ... No place is actually lonely me thinks, we are only apparently separated, we are part of the Whole.

You write melancholy well.
