Hmmm, seems they crossed Ole Froggie's Pond
into the land of WOOO...
far beyond, that world,
known to all of you.

Yep, Ole Froggie went a huntin'
with a sword and pistol by his side.
Yep, he went a huntin', with Daisy,
in search of the green and copper colored fly.

As Ole Froggie reached the edge,
of the deep dark wood,
he replaced, with a feathered hat,
his worn and tattered hood.

"RIBBIT, RIBBIT", he called into the dark...
hearing only a distant echo..."ribbit, ribbit"
and the cry
of Daisy's bark.

So, onward and onward, Ole Froggie went
as Daisy dog continued, ahead,
following
the coveted insect's scent.

Well traveled
and far into the nite,
Daisy's bark became louder.
Suddenly, there was absolute quiet!

No more barking or cricket sounds.
It was as tho there was
nothing,
nothing around!

Then, the buzzing,
the loud buzzing, began.
Each stood still.
Neither, ran.

The green and copper colored fly was there...
patiently
waiting
for the visiting pair.

Aaah, thought Ole Froggie,
with a twinkle in his eye,
as he FEASTED upon the beautiful
green and copper colored fly.

What a great tale! Each of the characters had its own plan, but it looks like only Ole Froggie's patience got rewarded in the end.

Very vivid imagery.

Enjoy your Sunday!

This is so cute, RV.  My previous dog, as you may have noticed - I think I put it in a reply to you somewhere - was Daisy!  She was/is very, very, very much loved.

I adore frogs too, not just horses and dogs and cats - but all animals that have ever walked or hopped or slithered or flew or swam or anythinged the planet - just not a few pests, of which flies are one kind.  I can sorta handle the death of a fly (seeing I kill one too if I find one in my kitchen, but I do say "Sorry" to the fly at the same time, and I really mean it, but I want it dead more than I am sorry, smiles).  I can especially handle the death of this fly as it fed darling Ole Froggie and also it was as special to him as fried mushrooms are to me!

Owl, thanks for the visit and comment. I, too, have a dog named Daisy. She  helps me with firewood...excellent retriever...

Hope,someday...to find the right illustrator and to create a children's book from my lighter poems.

Oh, how lovely!  Daisy dogs are very precious!  Please give your Daisy dog big hugs from her Auntie Di from sunny South Africa and tell her that I had a Daisy dog too, but that she is happily playing in Heaven now.

I wrote 2 very short children's books, but couldn't find an illustrator, and hoped the publishers could find me one, but I couldn't get them published because I refused to take out the snakes in them - wanted to save children from being prejudiced by adults who teach their children to fear snakes.
