The future held within our hands

belongs not to just us alone,

for we are but a link of chain,

and the time we have is on loan.

The generations after us

will share in our lifetime of deeds,

we try to leave a better world

with hopes our offspring will succeed.

As our sun sets theirs will rise

and they'll inherit what we've left,

will they receive rich legacy

or will their portion be bereft ?
