Yellow Sky

It's morning and a yellow sky
Lights up the east and draws the eye
To where the sun will soon appear.
The songs of all the birds I hear,
Seem jubilant and joyful too,
At coming through the night to view
Another sunrise and to sing
Of happy things the day will bring
And as the color starts to grow,
The world takes on a golden glow,
That seems intense and quite unreal.
I look around me and I feel
This day is different from the rest
And by the time it paints the west,
I will have savored every hour
And brought some secret dream to flower!

Dear Betty Lou, I came back to read your poem once more and now I think these four lines will be my motto!

It holds beauty and wisdom, thank you for this once again.

Love and hugs.

I'm so glad I caught this today, Betty. I have a somewhat similar poem brewing, and now that I've read this, maybe mine will leave me alone unborn.

But then, maybe not.
