I would deny the birds to sing
The blooming flowers, the coming spring,
If it be true that he is gone
Then tell me pray, why they live on.

Cruel February took his breath.
The one I loved likes low in death,
This man who loved his family
And to all men a friend would be.

Dear gracious Lord, I thank thee for
Those happy days we had before
The angels came to where he lay
And carried our dear one away.

Forgive me that his loss I moan.
Remind me he was Heaven's loan.

Dear Joyce, how poignant and heartfelt! A loss such as this will forever make the heart cry, even when you know he is Home and in God's arms, safe and loved.

Love and hugs.

Thank you ladies for your nice comments.  The years and time help but one doesn't forget.  The ache is still there.  Love, Joyce

From my poem The Door to Love

"If you should need to leave, or say goodbye
Do not be distraught.
For I have harvested memories so grand,
That they alone will sustain me,

And leave me with smiles and sparkling eyes.
I would never be alone,
For I have memories to call upon.
A gift to me from you."

Sharing with you the memories.latearrival
