Drowning...
In a sea of debt
Holding on by my fingertips...
And hoping..praying...
That somehow this to will pass.

Drowning...
In an ache of agony
Just wishing you were here to hold...
And hoping...praying...
That you will make it home.

Drowning...
In waves of loneliness
Knowing there are people around..
And hoping...praying...
But no one hears my cries.

Drowning...
In this lost land called life
Knowing that I live without truly living...
And hoping..praying...
But I grow tired, and just want to sleep.

I know when to bow my head in defeat and move on...

Welcome - and what a poignant first post.  Unfortunately this poem could apply to far too many these days, but I have faith better days are coming for all.

Carpe' Diem,
Mysteria

Dear Nicole, what an impressive and in the same time sad first post (under the relatively new login name)! Very well rendered anxiety!

May hope give you strength to cope and to overcome whatever difficulties.

Love,
Margherita

Life can be just that, m'dear
without the roller coaster of
recent circumstances.

Well done, and welcome to Passions!

We'll all look forward to more of
your passionate writing!

I say you've found your feet...a poem many can identify with in this day and time. Thanks for sharing.

I know this "gasping" for life all too well. I am just waiting to breathe again. Great read!

A lot of emotion here ... a long and lonely path, though sometimes shared by others, to and from the same direction

well written
