I waited too long to go back to
Those long ago days we knew,
Back to the time of care free youth,
When summers were made for two.

No one we knew is still around,
Nothing familiar to be found.
They've slipped away with remembered years
When life was happy, before the tears.

They vanished with you when you went away.
Summers of sunshine aren't meant to stay.
I hold them fast in my treasured recall,
Those sunniest, merriest days of all.

Joyce,

There is always the Good memories in your treasure chest-- But then, theirs the bad and the sad.

I believe that you can have two different places in your mind to
have one with good and one with sad
-Keeping the good ones close to your heart

Reminds me of a conversation over 30 years ago at my Grandfather's funeral( he lived to be 85) where my Grandmother was upset because none of her friends were around to come and comfort her, they had passed on too.

She lived to be 95...
