The Trail We Leave

I dreamed that I set sail last night
Across a sea where people write
And as they finish, pages drift
To float awhile, to sink or shift.
The briny air smelled of strange herbs
And overhead, were nouns and verbs.
They flew along, just looking for
An open mind they could explore!

Ideas popped into my head.
Imagination, richly fed.
The sea turned dark as printer's ink.
A strong voice calling out,"please think,
Before your paper feels a pen.
The trail we leave is for wise men."
So with a sigh, I turned away,
For I had nothing left to say!

The day will never come that you have nothing to say.  This is very imaginative and springs from your fertile brain.  Wonderful as always.  Love, Joyce

and yet,
there will be another time,
when others set sail on a sea of rhyme
seeking adventure, pleasure and such.
finding themselves alone,
as castaways on a desert isle,
smelling the salt in the air,
feeling the warm winds blow
and dreaming dreams,
of things that never were!

This is sound advice, which makes you very wise. Some people speak far too soon with really nothing to say.
Loved it,

This is my favorite one because it's so true and poetic!--

May your day be filled with poetic song
so you can write with beauty of words
Having the thoughts of a poet forever Long
