In a Lighter Vein

Brother, too big for his britches,
Said he wasn't scared of witches;
Of ghosts and goblins had no fear
And dared a demon to come near.

The morning after Halloween
He was just nowhere to be seen.
We looked for him in woods and ditches
In cubbyholes and hidden niches.

My mama couldn't find her broom,
We searched for it in every room.
I shouldn't laugh 'til I'm in stitches,
At Brother carried off by witches.

I really enjoyed that.  It's got a nifty little rhythm to it that makes it a fun read.

sister beware!

i wonder why sisters get such glee
from poor lost brothers
like him and me...
subjected to the curse of witchery!

i believe all sisters are she-devils!
they are, all, one of a kind.
brusing their, refine brother's,
tormented minds.

but, always remember...
tomorrow is a new day!
brother will return
and have his way!

Good one wooo.  This was a mythical brother.  My own five brothers were wonderful to me.  Joyce

Dear Joyce:  Cute poem and I'm sure there are many little sisters, who wish this could happen to their brothers!

"sister beware", was written with tongue in cheek! it brought back fond...tormenting memories...of my sisters. i loved them both.

ps,

yes, joyce, i understand your feeling. my oldest sister, jo jo, is still alive and she lives with me. i am able to see that she is properly cared for as we both continue to enjoy the world around us and relive our memories.

cute as a chipmonks smile dear Joyce.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost
