                  No Mas Muertas

Watch the cities burn.
The smoke clouds of kerosene, magnesium and sulfur, rise,
carrying with then the stench of death.
Is this the road back to Wild Nature
or merely a step backwards?
There are those, in sheltered worlds,
never having stepped through the mirrored glass,
remaining on the backside,
in the comfort of a deep dark woods,
beyond the light of day,
hiding from the stench and horrors of war!
The road I've traveled cuts deep
between the crumbling walls of brick and mortar
and the cries I hear
are not from the bodies in the streets
but from the cries from within my own heart!

I hear those cries everyday, My Dad who was in World War II told me once "War is Hell" and that is probally about the truest thing he ever told me.

yes, songbird, your father was right. probably something he learned from direct experience or military history. general william t. sherman said the same thing before he gave the order to burn atlanta during the civil war and we see  modern warriors just as ruthless, today, in countries from "a" to "z".

I have lived long enough to see the horror of many wars, indirectly.  Long enough to know that war is not the answer and why can't our leaders see?  Joyce

joyce, the idiodynamics of leadership is an interesting topic...you ask, "why can't our leaders see?". i believe they do see. they are endowed with a gift, afforded by democracy or otherwise,... to lead!... and their vision will control human destiny for a time!

life is mankind's world...its systems...both natural and artificial!
death is man's fate...mankind's apocalypse!...and it is faith that carries us through the difficult times, regardless of the horseman leading us.
