I glory in the morning
In my crown of halo blue.
My vines are ever winding,
Entangled in the dew.
I wake up all the flowers
And then go back to sleep
While the moonflower
Steeps in slumber
The vigil dawn I keep.
Then dressed in gowns of silver
When twilight calls her name
The moonflower rises slowly
And opens up the same.
We’re the alpha and omega
Of the summer’s dusk and dawn
In tenderness we live
And by the frost we’re gone.
