It may be she lives in fantasy
wrapped inside the warmth of his arms,.
To her, it is reality so consuming
that life is mere chunks of space debris
floating in slow motion.

While others burn comet paths through skies,
she is content to stand beneath
the shelter of his strength, yet afraid
to look up and catch the fire in his eyes,
or move to uncurl away from his grip.

This is their green springtime place
atop riotous colors of new leaves and flowers
where jeweled birdsong and shafts of misty light
bring an exalted sense of peace –
the yearning for eternity hovers on them.

This was truly delightful poetry.  The yearning for eternity hovers over us all doesn't it?  I saved this one to read again and again.

hummm...very thought provoking poem...we all exist for awhile in a cocoon of sorts but in time we undergo a metamorphasis...it is truly a human tragedy if one never escapes...

This must have been posted when my computer was pouting.  I am sure I would have answered sooner, had I seen it.  Lovely.  Joyce
