VANNA'S BEEN FRAMED!

From Florida, with love, there came,
A parrot picture, with a name
That conjures up a flow of words
Not found with many other birds,
For Vanna talks and whispers too,
But that's not all that she can do.
She's learned to sing a well known song,
Billy Ray Cyrus helped along.
She is a beauty, believe you me!
Feathers green predominately.
Upon her wings a touch of red
To match the spot atop her head.
Loose feathers came along with her.
Such lovely colors and they were
Too beautiful to hide away,
So we decided they must stay
Within an oaken frame we found,
Tropical beauty to surround.
Now here she is, for all to see.
We've framed her for posterity!

With thanks to Marge Tindal, who kindly sent the pictures and molted Vanna feathers, to our son Ron.
It made him very happy!

Hi Martie:  Thanks to Marge, this was a fun project for Ron and me. The first frame I bought was too small, so our older son donated the oak one.  A better chice by far!
Thanks for your comments.

You know, my friend ... if it made My Ronnie happy, it made me even happier~

Just knowing that Vanna is famous in Idaho
is a real treat for me~

You two did a WONDERFUL job with the photos
and with Vanna's little feathered donations~

Knowing that My Ronnie can see Vanna from his bed ... just tickles me to pieces~

HI MY RONNIE
Vanna does sing that Billy Ray Cyrus hit,
'Achy Breaky Heart'
She is quite the character !!

Wouldn't even surprise me that she now knows she's a star in Idaho !!

*Huglets* to you, sweet BettyLou
and to Will and MY RONNIE too~
I just LOVE YOU ALL~

Dear Marge:

Thank you again!!  This was such an enjoyable experience from start to finish.
Ron and pretend we have two Vanna's,  since there are two pictures! You can never have too much of a good thing! Will and Ron send their thanks also.

We are showing her to everyone we know, so you are right, she is becoming famous in our little corner of Idaho!

Much love

WOW!!  Is that a pic or real birds??
I see the little donated feathers as well..too cute!
I have a talking bird too..but he doesn't sing.
His name is Casey, an albino Parakeet.

So to whom does Vanna belong?
I want to know more!
Is that a real bird stepping out of the frame?
..or is it two birds?

Fantastic!!

One of my first birds was a Spectacled Amazon, much like your lovely Vanna (s). The poem is perfect! Thank you so much for sharing your treasure!

Isn't she a beauty??? I still keep Vanna's feather here in my study. She is such a lovely bird and she let me pet her over the head.

Lovely tribute to a lovely bird.

Enchantress:  Vanna belongs to Marge!  She was sweet enough to send me and my son Ron, two pictures of Vanna along with molted feathers.  We all thought they needed to be framed, so we can enjoy her forever!I believe Marge said she is about 9 years old and is multi-talented!
She sounds like a super pet and the source of much amusement! I know Marge can tell you a lot more about her!

Thanks for reading and for your nice comments.

This is so sweet.  I appreciate the explanations as to who's who and I think Vanna's gorgeous.  The frame is really neat and the poem, ingenious.

Once our son was given a bare parakeet by a pet shop keeper.  We had him about 5 years and the only feathers he ever had were on his head, high up on his back and under his neck where he couldn't reach to pull them out. I never took a picture as I thought him so ugly, but now wish I had. As soon as a feather broke through the skin, he'd pick at it until he pulled it out.  Spent all his time at that so never did talk, or sing.

Dear Betty Lou

You are so talented in more ways than one!!!  The framed photos and feathers of Marges parrot Vanna is fantastic!!!  Your poem truly compliments your 'work of art'!!!

Marges Vanna is gorgeous and so talented too!  Is "Achy Breaky Heart" the only song he/she knows how to sing?

Folks ... we are sooooo pleased that Vanna is such a STAR !!

BettyLou's poem and photo sure put her in the spotlight~

As long as My Ronnie is smiling
I'm smiling

She not only sings that 'Achy Breaky' thing,
she also talks up a storm ... she says, "Hello" ... "Whatcha' doing?", "Trick or Treat" (and with Halloween coming up ... she LOVES peanuts !) ... when she gets rather 'noisy', I put my finger to my lips and tell her to 'whisper' ... and she does !

She imitates the sounds of Bill's saws when he's woodworking~

She laughs just like ME !

She whistles to call the dogs !
And those silly little critters come running~
