Bitter Taste of Victory

Darkest Night
Brightest Day
Greyest Eve
Simple Morn

Run fool run
Hide fool hide
Round the bushes
In the stream

Charge down the
Endless path
Have no fear
Of Endless wrath

Now thereís a darkness
A cold wasteland near
A horrid rotten stinking
Of corpses and of fear

Die fool die
Hide fool hide
Sigh in shadows
Such ironic relief

Screw friendship
Halt darkness
Stop pain
Never was a man
To stand long in the rain

Hereís a moment lighted
A flash in the cooking pan
Hold on to the light
Become a burning man

For those who
Burn compassion
Are heroes
Great indeed

So a moment too late
Or a moment too soon
Screw friendship
Take love, to die or to swoon

Darkest Night
Brightest Day
Greyest Eve
Simple Morn

Thereís a hand to be held
An arm lifted high
A simple lovers whisper
Which canít form the words
Good Bye

Screw Friendship
Screw Honor
The promises few
A few words unspoken
A few deeds left to do

So laugh like a harpy
Strike like a snake
The wrong reasons sometimes
Are the ones you must take

Itís over now, just started
A moment too late
The bitter taste of victory
And the promises of fate

So speak words to your darling
Never now forget
Screw friendship, take power
Take love or take regret

Darkest Night
Brightest Day
Greyest Eve
Simple Morn

Thereís a better
Way than shadows
Black a better grey
A million simpler tongues
Than any wise man hopes to say

Run fool run
Take all as you will
Smile brother smile
Learn truth without your guile

Darkest Night
Brightest Day
Greyest Eve
Simple Morn

A bitter sweet Victory
And a love by which weíre torn

My melancholy is purely my own
