Temptress

Oh the voice of the temptress
Deep chocolate in my ear
The lilting voice of the bird
The last warning I can hear

But I am no more in danger
Than the stars in heaven bright
When the dark rolling clouds
Devour up their light

And thus the temptress
Once again the storm
A quivering dog in the closet
A fear without substance or form

The only thing to fear
Is here inside my mind
Those things brought in
My soul to kill and bind

Oh thus my temptress
The doves singing in the night
For me a touch of heaven
And a touch of careful fright

Be who you are
And say what you feel
'Cause those who mind don't matter
And those who matter don't mind
-Dr Suess
