Hey Guys, Long Time No Chat. Well for 17 years my family have been sponsoring a child from an underpriviladged country. Her name is Shahan and she is now 18 y.o's of age. This year she asked my family to stop sending her money as she was set to marry. Anyway long story short my mother and father have decided not to sponsor another child. So i have taken it upon myself to sponsor a little boy in Ethiopia by the name of Oscar. I wrote him a letter a while back when i first made my decision and today i got his response. He told me of his life and how he live in a village with alot of other homeless children. He is fortunate enough to read and write but his brothers and sisters haven't had the chance to learn. His letter has touched me deeply. Oscar told me that his grandmother told him as a child that it was a sin to associate with white people and until i began sponsoring him he believe white people did not care for the black race. I think its really sad that we are potrayed this way to children. Weather we be black or white don't we all deserve the same amount of love and respect. Or do we simply get judged by our colour to hide the truth. Either way someday its got to stop.!!

Black Vs White

Forgive me god for I have sinned
One thousand times since these lights dimmed
A fractured cheek and a broken bone
An innocent child who has no home

Tattered torn, frayed at the edge
A mother gave birth under that hedge
Children crying they’re in pain
Broken bodies washed away with rain

Salty tears now that she’s got aids
She stays strong, but her smile fades
A child bleeding, he’s been shot
This deadly war has got to stop

A shattered innocent that we ignore
As we walk right by they suffer more
But in the corner all alone
Lies a little boy who’s found his home

In the saviour of a burnout fridge
This little boy found his place to live
His eyes light up when you walk his way
But he is black so you can’t stay

So what’s the point of this task
And how have I sinned you may ask
The truth is that it’s your fault too
All these innocents rely on you

Now it’s time to wake up and see
That world doesn’t revolve around you and me
People bleed and people die
Innocents hurt and Innocents cry

Save yourself from the human race
Build a bridge and find some space
It doesn’t take a millionaire to sponsor a child
To save them from their destiny of becoming wild

Maybe they’ll have aids or scars that cut too deep
Maybe they’ll be black with no memories to keep

Forgive me god for I have sinned
One million times since these lights dimmed
Fractured memories have held me fast
From a painful lie that will be my last

A black woman leaves her eldest son
It seems the aids have finally won
With broken pride she falls to the ground
Her body trembling but she makes no sound

His name is Oscar and he’s brother’s three
And this little boy wants to be like me
He’s only ten but we’ve given him a life
The chance of one day having a wife

So with battle scars he can call his own
This little boy walks right on home

that's beautiful. I have a friend and she just loves helping people, so when she's finished with her schooling she's going to countries all over the world to make life better for boys and girls like that. Teaching them to read and write, building them homes, all over humanitarian aid.

Wow. Just Wow.

Be who you are
And say what you feel
'Cause those who mind don't matter
And those who matter don't mind
