inside the shadows

I'm wasting here
behind these crimson covered walls
as your blood soaked fingers
rip through the contents of my soul.
The once steady pulsing of my heart
is clowly cascading to a halt.
No longer full of life,
my ivory skeleton will lay here
behind this barrier of hate
all because of one mistake;
a childish fault of a young woman.
They all though
that I was the happy one,
that I was the one who would lift them all.
Now look at me lying here
on this metallic covered cement floor,
did I do something wrong?
Was I not good enough for you?
I was alawys judged as
"the bubbly girl"
and no one ever knew of the pain
that was hidden beneath this mask.
Now you wish
you could have seen through my smile,
you wish
you could have done something.
But there was nothing you could have done,
fate had chosen its path.
Maybe next time,
when you picture my smiling face,
you'll learn to look past the make up
and finally see
who I really was.

So cut me into pieces and tape me into something beautiful...

You know, I don't think I'll ever get over the fact that I've known you forever but for some stupid reason I could never see through that. I always thought you were happy, I never would have thought other wise either...untill everything else happened. How could I be so blind and stupid..?
