A broken tear and a faded light
A shallow heart is breaking tonight
It’s 2 AM somewhere andI’m shivering in the cold
Left with nothing but a shattered memory of you to hold

I’m standing on my front door
And those memories don’t count anymore
We justleft everything just threw it all away
Things would be different had I asked you to stay

Don’t say that you don’t matter because you know it isn’t true
Don’t say that I don’t miss you because every night I think of you
Don’t say that you’re not worth it when you are worth the fight
Don’t say that I don’t need you, because I need you every night

The night’s air is cold and I’m lost in regret
Every ounce of me misses the friend I can’t forget
But somewhere in the tempest hope will still remain
It’s 2am somewhere in the morning rain

Jess!!! Wow haven't talk to you in a long time! This poem is amazingly good... I can connect to this poem oh so well... Library

Wow, this is so sad, and very touching. I can relate very well. Thank you for sharing

So no more hiding all your pain, you deserve a new start. That's why i'm closing myself away, this is a message from your heart.

I love this, but I fear that it will be something I will be able to relate to sooner of later. All the same, it's amazing.

This is a really amazing sequal. I love it just as much as the first "Its Cold At 2am". Love your work every time.

Absolutly astounding. Sadly I am able to relate. Thought I must say is was very eloquently put. I especially loved the last stanza:
-----
The night’s air is cold and I’m lost in regret
Every ounce of me misses the friend I can’t forget
But somewhere in the tempest hope will still remain
It’s 2am somewhere in the morning rain
