You Had the World but You Dropped It:

Mr. Football Star
With the shiny car
Everyone knows
Who you are

The timer stops
You run to the stands
Everyones screaming
Trying to touch your hands

Girls run over
Drop to your feet
You turn your head
And look straight at me

My cheeks turn red
I turn away
You open your mouth
Like you've got something to say

Some blond runs over
And grabs your waist
Shes wearing lip gloss
"You wanna taste?"

I stand up to leave
I walk up the stands
But I stop in my tracks
When I feel your hand

Its on my shoulder
I hear your voice
So smooth and soft
You leave me no choice

I turn around
Avoid your eyes
Your finger's under my chin
You make my head rise

I see your face
Your smiling huge
You'd never guess
What that smile can do

Everyones yelling at you
To get back on the field
You block them out
With your invisible shield

Were all alone now
At least in our minds
Without saying anything
You send me the signs

Were rudely interrupted
By some guy named Gerard
You turn your head slowly
And stare at him hard

"If you don't get back down there,
You're off the team"
You shrug your shoulders
Relieved, it seems

You grab me by the waist
And kiss me deep
I lose my breath
My knees go weak

You take my hand
And lead me away
Everyones stares
I don't know what to say

I will never understand
I will never really see
Why you had the world
But you dropped it for me.

But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil,
thou shalt not eat of it;
for in the day that thou eatest thereof
thou shalt surely die.
