I loved you so much it hurt,
you had my heart in your hands.
I was banking on us lasting forever.
Who knew that you would go so fast?
Ripped from my arms by another girl,
a few years older than me.
I never thought that someone like that
would take you away from me.

At first I was so mad,
how could you do this to me?
Then I was totally devastated,
I wasn't good enough for you to stay.
I tried hard to move on,
I even forgave that girl, and you.
But when I started getting sick in the mornings,
I was pretty sure I knew.

So when I took that little test,
and saw those two pink lines.
I wasn't surprised at what my eyes told me,
I was going to have our child.
I was so sure that you'd care,
I prayed for you to come back.
But nothing changed, you were still gone,
No money, support, nothing like that.

It's been a few years now,
and there's a new love of my life.
I named him after you, my love,
he has your eyes and your wonderful smile.
I bring him to see you sometimes,
talk to you while he plays.
He's not sure yet why we come here,
this stone that is his daddy's grave.

I've forgiven that drunken girl
who hit you with her car that night.
I only wish that I had been there,
to hold your hand the night you died.
I'm taking it one day at a time,
spending lots of them with our son.
I don't know if I'll find another love,
I think you'll always be the one.

Amazing . . . truly amazing. This poem made me cry and it has so much emotion. Definatly library. Great job.

Wow.. this is so sad. Its making me tear up.. *snifles* Great write! this is deffenently going into my library. *more snifles* hahaha..

Wonderful. No more words are needed to tell what I think about this poem. Touched my heart and going into my library.
