There Once Was A Boy

I don’t know your story
But I will tell you mine
In the hope that comfort
Will come to you divine

There once was a boy
And he was in “love”
With a fable in his head
No olive branch or dove

Then he found the greatest love
That ever could be found
He made a sacred vow
To fly above the ground

Then he fell in love again
With a witch of flesh and blood
Good and great she may have been
But it dragged him through the mud

He’s lucky she never saw him
That broken she need not be
Or jealous of something
She never did see

Cruel she could have been
If she had ever seen
Dead and cold he could be now
Instead of standing keen

If this your story seems
Be sure you know your parts
Do not make my great mistakes,
Please heal these broken hearts

"Be Strong and Always Remember what made you you." Earl
