inside the shadows

I watch those glittering pieces of glass
shatter against the hardwood floor.
My past was in that picture, my past
was in its’ frame.  Jagged and torn,
our smiling faces will never be seen again.
The lies I’ve heard, the tears I’ve shed, all
resolve to revenge.  Sweet revenge, I’ll take
it all.  That family portrait hanging on the wall,
will be a symbol of my soul.  No longer whole,
that portrait has been torn.  Just like the threads
of my family.  Broken, abused and left
for the dead.  Never again will our laughter
be heard.  Only the fatal screams
of our once wholesome hearts.

So cut me into pieces and tape me into something beautiful...

wow this is really good. . . i'm sorry for whatever is going on, you can really feel the the emotion in this and its strong.

it reminds me of that song by P!nk, it's actually also called Family Portrait, except the situation in the song is much different from urs. I'm always here, and like always the poem is beautiful. Luv ya hun,

this remeinds of another poem that was writing about a family portait.. except it was about a dad leaveing the family. this one is really good. i like it
