I’ve never been so distant before, I’ve never felt this sad
You just sit there crying because life’s never been this bad
I wish I knew how to fix this, knew how to make you smile
But this time i can’t help you, so I’ll stay for a while

You’re an eighteen year old chick with a heart bigger than her head
Hell i still remember the first time i got drunk and woke up in your bed
Oh god girl we’ve done it all, you took me to my first band
You got caught drinking, and blamed me for putting it in your hand
Oh god my dad almost killed me and then you puked on his shoes
His eyes lit up with anger, and to clean them you’d refuse

I remember the first album you brought me, the waifs to be exact
Told me i couldn’t listen to real music until I faced the facts
We have so much fun, you are my best mate
Still remember the time you set me and your bro up on a date
I even remember the time we got kicked off the bus on the way home
Your dad came and got us and then he confiscated your phone
You tried to tell him it was my fault we painted the bus
He knew you were lying he always busted us

All the things we’ve done, the great times we’ve had
I wish it didn’t have to end, i wish it wasn’t this bad
You were at a concert, just having fun
You trod on some guys needle, when you went to run
You’d never done drugs, and you would never have done it anyway
But now you’ve got aids and your life’s fading away
You don’t deserve this, you don’t deserve the pain
You don’t deserve to die, its driving me insane
Only the good die young, and your one of the good
You’ve got a year left babe, and party you should

I’ll be your crying shoulder when your world comes crashing down
I’ll be your protector when you’re too scared to make a sound
I’m right by your side, so sweetie don’t forget
Let's party till the lights go dim cause you’re not dead yet

Such a beautiful poem, and i'm so sorry about your friend. If words could heal a wound, yours would do it. She's lucky to have a friend like you, and i wish her all the best in the time she has.

I am a broken toy,
Of no use to anyone,
But if you fix me up,
I'm sure we'll have some fun.

It's very nice of you to stick by her side, she's lucky to have such a loving friend. Great poem,

Oh such a sad but beautiful poem such bad things can happen, I do have to say though that I think it would have been nicer if the lines had been cut where they naturally took a beat (I hope that makes sense)
