I wrote this one a while ago and relized just now I still hadn't posted it so yeah.

Remember the Night

I have almost forgotten darkness
Never once did I believe
That light and life could be forgetful
Or that joy could blind

I have known the brightest day
Cursed the darkest woe
A woe, a darkness I must fight
I foe that I must know

I had lost the breathing knowledge
Until it came again
You came needing my foolish help
As I came long ago

To a one much wiser than I
Which he then did say
You have taught me much again
That I had forgot

Of love for all mankind I see
Pain for those who’ll not
Many I know who cannot see love
Yet you I know believe

I never thought I would forget
The darkness or the light
And yet I have forgotten both
My life simply gray

And as the sunrise I stand by
Light that cast’s more shadow
Waiting for the brighter day
And pulling the light along

For those who dwell in grayness
And those who live in light
I pray that we will never forget
The darkness of the night
