I never knew you
The half of me that's missing
A heritage unknown
And you won't get to know me
Until I am full grown

I wonder what you would think
If you knew of me
Your Daughter, Daddy
Your Daughter
Your fourteen-year-old Daughter
A child of your very own

I'm growing up now
You've missed so much
As I have missed my father's touch
A gentle hug and perhaps a playful smile?
I think about you all the time.

And I wish almost
That you hadn't gone to college
Then Mommy-a mere seventeen
Would have had your support
For her and her child
Maybe

Grandma and Grandpa have raised me
Mommy lives nearby and I see her all the time
And I see Chuck too
He's her husband
He's the only reason I dont regret not knowing you
For now
Cause I love him and he loves me and Mommy too
But wait, Daddy, please dont be mad!
Because I still want to know you.
