It’s hard sometimes When the skies have darkened To faded melancholy gray From the constant questions Driving this head into the ground. For what have I given my all? To what end could this dream Utter even the smallest gasps for air? Couldn’t breathe if I tried Spent all this time Running full speed Towards the finish line, Only it moves farther As I move closer. Is it reachable? Is it all in my mind? I’ve spent a life waiting For the sky to break open, Waiting for the words My mother spoke to Make everything alright, But I thought it was alright, I thought it was over. It’s been hard Listening to their words Giving trust to their Obvious intentions And now it seems I’ve been thinking It’s all over, Thinking it’s alright. Tell me, is it over? Tell me it’s over. |
