I may have to say . . . goodbye

Today the sky was crying
I believe it was for you and me
So many chances spoiled
So many times lost and forgotten

Was it the first kiss we’ve never had?
Or the feel of your arms not around me
Or is it the times that we are so close
And yet you’re miles away from me

It’s because you love me
And the fact that we can’t be
I’m too remote
And you’re too unyielding

As the time goes,
Our fingers entwined
But our future wavers widely
The scales are tipping dangerously

There’s not a word to tell
Why the skies have ceased their tears
Too much of life is passing
So I may have to say goodbye
