Glass is Worse that the Knife- Often it’s Invisible

What happened to understanding you ask me suddenly hating my salted tears
I answer later to myself that understanding ends where lies begin and you lied big time
And pain wouldn’t hurt if it didn’t stab at your heart, no I don’t think it would hurt
If it didn’t touch your soul it could skim by and skin the world in silence alive and deadly

But little pieces of glass ripple down my core, sticking in all the wrong places, sticking fast
I can’t seem to get them out, though I can ignore the prickling that it brings along
The worst is in the night time, when all of the day’s laughs materialize into nightly fears
It’s then that I can’t breathe; I can only shiver and lit my head for a shuttering gasp

I never knew that when you played the fool that it became a part of you that doesn’t leave
I guess I was ignorant, I guess I was naïve to the ways of the cold-hearted human race
A pretty face- my wasted disgrace that I caused and you committed, your blood is black
Faces are erased but words live on forever- memory holds to them the best after all

I didn’t think it could last so long- hurt and blood, I thought it would dry and heal well
Whoever said it was better to love and lost than to never have loved at all was wrong
Pain so intense it kills your very frame; the part of you that wasn’t supposed to change
And you wonder if you were meant to hold such feelings, my, how has the world survived

We have all felt this way one time or another. Good feeling in this.
