Someone reliable told me today,
That you've already been in love.
I looked at her with a touch of confusion,
Wondering what she was thinking of.
She said that it was just she wouldn't
Tolerate you acknowledging the fact.
I wonder where the heck her mind went,
And asked where she was headed at.

She told me that if it were her,
She'd make you burn all those things.
The ones that remind you of your other love,
Her pictures, her letters, her rings.
And instead of telling her to mind her own,
I simply told her my thoughts.
It wasn't what she expected to hear,
And it was more raw emotion than not...

I don't care about your other girls,
It's a relationship, not a war, sweetie.
If you want to keep them, that's fine with me,
I consider it the heart's graffiti.

And god knows my own heart isn't quite pure,
It's got its share of marks.
But I wear them proudly, walk with my head high,
I've gone to battle, these are my scars.
And I know there will come a time
When you may want to hear about them.
And I'll tell these stories with a touch of a smile,
Because I wouldn't be your woman without them.

I don't ever want to go back to those places,
I love right where I am.
I know that sometimes I fly off the handle,
But I talk to you and the lion turns lamb.
When you wrap your arms around me,
Because you know my day's been rough.
I know I don't need some snotty girl,
To tell me you're not good enough.

I don't care about your other girls,
I mean, I'm not gonna invite them for tea...
But I know that you love me now,
And I consider then your heart's graffiti.

It's not easy to see through my body,
But we know it's there, you and me.
Your name written across my heart,
My own personal heart's graffiti.

I've stopped fighting my inner demons... we're on the same side now.
