where my heart is

Winning?

Winning doesn’t always mean beating some one
You think your on top when you have the gun
But inside you know you’re going the coward’s way
By pushing the enemy down, and running this day

I turn the corner in the dead of night
There’s a hidden pass to my right side
I hit the ground: now a man stands above me
A streetlight behind him shone, I could see.

Answers to your problems can’t just appear
Hurting innocence won’t wipe away those tears
Being the standing when the fight is over
Does not mean you’ve hidden who you were

Now inside the alley the stranger jumped out of
He looked at me and gave me a shove
Blow after blow, my mouth fills with blood
I collapse to the ground; my face in the mud

Are you lost in the darkest corners of the world?
Reach out your hand for help not to grab and hurl
Look into the eyes of those you desire to hurt
Do you really want to take this any further?

A kick in the stomach; silent screams in my ears
I look to the sky my eyes filled with tears
Stars fade in and out along with sounding sirens
The man runs away from his newly made burdens

Look up gaze into the distance
See your whole life in a single instant
The past shouldn’t change who you are
But keep it in mind to learn for the future

What before was pain is now fading into white
As it has been described, I see a light
But just as soon, I open my eyes
Back into the world, I’ve been given life

Winning is about bringing the best
Out of situations created by mess
Slow to anger wins all fights
Not just strength, violence, or might

This is the sure way to always win
To never lift a fist in anger again
For the man who does
Is the man who runs
And the man who makes peace
Recovers faster you see
For he has only physical wounds
While the other cannot heal so soon
With an injured soul at hand
He must wander dried lands
Searching for something that cannot be found
Anywhere else but in the hands of God.
((i wrote this a while ago and...i hope its understandible... ))

I really like this, I definitly agree with this, and the way you put it. It is so true that not fighting wins way more than someone who starts fights or is in them. I totally agree and this is so true to what I believe in , so I really like this.
