I get anxious when we don't talk for a while,
I start to crave the sight of your smile.
When we're together, my heart beats too fast,

I'm the happiest when I'm talking to you,
Are you seeing a pattern here, too?

You've broken through, you've gotten in,
And I'm afraid I can't get you out again.
Your laugh, your smile, your kiss, your voice,
You've become my drug of choice.
No one could have made the prediction,
The one in which you become my addiction.

There's no Anonymous meetings for the heart,
And I wouldn't go if they were to start.
It's the kind of obsession that hurts so good,
I wouldn't dare quit, even if I could.
It's more important to me than food or drink,
Drives me so crazy sometimes I can't think.

i dont like addictions...bad experiences..but i do like this poem so keep up the good work!

amazing it was such a wonderful poem to see the love written in the words there are times when i feel like this to an extent and i love how you put it to words

I have given up so many addictions: drugs, alcohol, gambling, spending money to excess, etc., but love is a "good" addiction. I have another one and that is coffee. As soon as Ron finishes the "submit poem" site I'll submit my "Addiction to Coffee" poem. I "love" coffee.
