I’m hiding under the bed tonight,
With my insecurity and pain.
Hiding it from the ones I love,
So they won’t take the blame.
It’s not their fault, I don’t think that at all,
But I can’t let them see me this way.
Because if they do, they’re bound to ask why,
And my seams are already starting to fray.
I don’t blame him, it’s not his fault,
I’ve had these feelings for a while,
It’s been so long since I’ve laughed for real,
So long since I’ve felt a natural smile.

I’m getting a little worried now,
It hink I’m fading fast.
I want so bad to cry out for help,
But I’m also too scared to ask.
If I ask for help, whomever I choose,
Will get a long glimpse at my soul.
And I’m afraid they’ll walk away
When they see how far I am from whole.
There’s a huge, gaping hole in my chest,
That’s getting worse by the day.
I don’t know how to mend it,
Not sure how to make it go away.

I wish I was as strong as you all think I am,
But I’m not, it’s something you’ll learn.
All you can do is watch as I speed,
You’ll be helpless when I finally crash and burn.
I hope to God it will be a relief,
But I dread the nearing date.
I still want someone to come help me out,
Someone to interrupt fate.
This isn’t a last-ditched attempt before suicide,
Don’t be galvanized into action.
I just need a touch of help,
Need to be driven to distraction.

So I’m hiding here under the bed,
Ironically hoping that someone will find me.
I don ‘t need to be saved, just listened to,
So I can start to put some of this behind me.
And if you don’t care, please don’t feel bad,
There’s a lot of people who don’t.
And when you decide that you need help, too,
I’ll be right there, don’t think I won’t.
But if you do care, and want to come find me
Come looking, cry out, or call me instead.
You don’t have to hurry, feel free to linger,
I’ll still be hiding here under the bed.

Chipping a heart only makes it easier to see the light inside.

Ok, I haven't been in here for a long time, and reading this just made me realize what I am missing in here.
I enjoyed every line, and as much time as I can get, i will come back here and look for your work
Thanks for the read

this was my favorite part. I think what I really like about all of your poems is I can relate to most of them. This is one of those. If you ever need someone to talk to you can email me...
