Hey all! This is my first poem on here, you may find it a little confusing but that was my aim - to make you think a little harder as to what it may be about. Anyway...here it is:

The Unsuspected Demon

It has so much power, so much authority,
Day in day out, it sits there cold and grey,
Nothing but hatred filling those dark, soulless eyes,
It watches us, making sure we’re all following its maliciously concocted plan,
But what I don’t understand is –
How can we allow something so malevolent rule us all the way it does?

I stand alone, looking;
Looking around at the sight before me,
I see people laughing, joking, chatting,
You wouldn’t think there was anything wrong but look again,
Look at their tired faces, their dismal bounds of laughter,
Is this all just a front to please this unspeakable obsession?

‘Obsession?’ I hear you say,
‘Yes, an obsession’ I reply,
These names, these judgments, this conflict –
All because of this cold hearted obsession,
This evil iniquitous fixation is nothing but a callous scheme out to get us all,
Everyone last one of us.

It labels us, puts us into categories,
Divides us all; fastening a firm bond between us,
Not allowed to communicate,
Not allowed to approve of anything but the things set,
Those evil rules inscribed into your credulous minds,
Oblivious to it all, you carry on, not seeing the pure filth it’s subjecting us all to.

I can see it, but can you?

you are absolutly right i don't get it

heehe but i thought the poem was well put together and the wording was good too... Welcome to passions...

i get it. it's the world. everyone else. hollywood the president the government the people who tell us what to think and what to do when to do it and how to do it. it's every malevalent evil person who controls somthign it's the delvil in our hearts it's ourselves wanting to be like everyone else. it's you, it's me.
