Dreaming

I had an amazing dream last night,
One part darkness, and one part light.
In my dream they both came to me,
One love that's done, and one that's to be.
I could only choose one, one love above all,
Which one would catch me, which one let me fall?

One an old flame, still burning through time,
And once I thought he'd be all mine.
There's still that look in his sexy eyes,
I still want him, that's no surprise!
But should I hold on to something that's gone,
Or should I be grateful he's held on so long?

And another still new, shiny and daring,
One full of passion and the beginnings of caring.
When he looks at me, my heartbeat quickens,
And when he smiles, my blood hotly thickens.
Should I take a chance on someone new,
Or just play it safe like I always do?

Suddenly it hits me, the choice I will make.
It's abruptly clear the path I will take.
A smile slowly spreads across my face,
And I hold out my hand, my heart starts to race.
Then he kisses me, slow, hot, and steamy,
But then I wake up and realize I was dreaming.

When I stopped trying find the right guy, and concentrated on being the right girl, the right guy found me.
