Mirror image of who she doesn’t want to be. Looking into reflecting glass glancing the one person she don’t want to see, filled with what she tries so hard to avoid hearing its footsteps makes her turn down different avenues feeling its blow has her showing the other cheek. Letting a burst of wind breeze it along to someone new. Haunting her every thought, a flitting shadow. Walking down the sidewalks with people laughing. Gazing momentarily into a clear puddle. staring back at her, a sneering face. Mirroring her in the worst, misplaced hate. Looking into clear blue eyes Reflecting back, all her lies. Mention of an old hobby Glimpsing just a shred of a forgotten world. Standing at a mirror now appearing happy, complete. Laughing without a sound. To her own self it even seems fake. Listening to the voices that are speaking, Shrugging off the ones who matter. Recreating, mixing shallow in her old dreams. Spitting on the ones still able to have hope. Remembering watching as she metamorphosized into whom she finally succumbed to be. Letting the curl of the wave have its path. willing to just forget everything of her past. Knowing fully what she is seeing trying to stop from believing. Seeming in the reflection. The truth of a mirror image. |
