                GOULASH on PERPOSE
                   By Billie Cullimore

Recipe:

           My sister called it Goulash
My daughter don't like the appearance
Son, Tracey thinks it's pretty good.
I call it (End of the week Clearance.)

It starts with Sunday Pot Roast.
           Or chicken---It just depends.
There'll be plenty left for a sandwich.
But hang on to that bony end.
                    Save It.

         Monday, Spaghetti and meat balls.
Way too much to throw out.
           Steamed Broccoli and Oregano.
            That's what it's all about.
                    Save It.

Tuesday, Baked potato and Pork chops.
Pork gravy is Oh! So good.
         Buttered green beans with Almonds.
         Keeping left overs is understood.
                    Save It.

Wednesday, we ate Macaroni and cheese.
Probably made a little too much.
Wieners were gone in a hurry.
Baked beans were an added touch.
                    Save It.

       Thursday, was chicken, rice casserole.
With peas and carrots on the side.
There's always pleanty for every one.
So the dog you don't have to hide.
                    Save It.

Friday, always Bread sticks and Pizza
Very seldom is there any left.
But, Brad had a date that night.
So, what do we do with the rest?
                    Save It.

Saturday, time to clean out the fridge.
Toss it all in a pot on the stove.
Add a large can of stewed tomatos.
Don't forget all the stuff that you froze.

What about the left over pizza?

Cut it in bite size peaces,
           they'll think it's dumplings.

Serve hot in soup bowls with hot backing
powder biscuits, and ice cold milk.

                     Enjoy.

Brad called.  "Mom, did you know that Tracey
           makes Goulash on perpose?"

From the lives of The Fabulous Four.
                   True Story.

Dear Billie, you are too much fun! Goulash on purpose, you crack me up!

You remind me of my Mom, who also tended to cook a little too much always and I remember my stepfather always saying "you have cooked again for a battalion!" But I remember also that certain dishes were even more exquisite the day after ...

You should repost this in the new Poetry forum 45, so that others may enjoy it too.

The real Hungarian goulash is one of my favorite dishes, especially in winter, but yours quite obviously found its admirers too.

Love,
Margherita

There my be more to come from the "Fabulous Four."
