          Mercurial Quests

When colors fade into shadows
with the sunset fall of night,
and much of life ceases to stir
in the pale-soft evening calm,
one abandons all pretensions
of this ever-fleeting world,
(as on the edge of the storm)
in powerless surrender
before the marshaled memories
  and regrets
of all that is forever lost
to untenable quests for love,
truth, and ‘happiness’.

It is a bittersweet haze of emotion that envelopes what
was and what is, and what may never be.

Been wondering where you were and when you would show up.

It's such a pleausre to read you, dreampoet~

Yo Secondhanddreampoet,

It's good to see you up and about.

I'm all for love, truth, and happiness—but that’s just me.

"one abandons all pretensions
of this ever-fleeting world, "
an intriguing line, dream poet.
