At the edge of a graying meadow
as darkness rolled in on heavy clouds,
I hear my self thinking:
is there anything that is unforgivable?
Things done I could never forgive someone for?
Does forgiveness mean I accept
the offence or horror otherwise unacceptable?
Does that mean I condone the act
thus encouraging the offender?

Trixie the Pixie is no slouch
when it comes to answering the “whys”
and sometimes even the “wherefores”
so it was with no surprise
I heard her tinkling voice:
“Forgiving someone of a crime,
does not mean you accept
what they did as being ok;
what it means is you no longer hold
anger or hatred towards the perpetrator –
you hold instead
the great power of compassion.

“It means you no longer carry
the burden of guilt in your heart.
It means you can let go of the past,
and move forward freely;
It means living your own life’s passion,
not that of others.

“Yes, the “bad news” will continue
to fill the so-called news:
It’s the media’s purpose to stir up fears
by publicizing crime and assorted ugliness,
making it all more ugly and more evil.”

With rain falling gently on leaves and grass
I walked back down the hill I’d climbed.
How light my feet felt then,
as if they were walking on their own.

That's just way too much baggage to carry around!
I'm really loving all your good thoughts these days, WindWalker.
I don't care how cliche is sounds, life is too short.

Best to you~

Yo WindWalker,

Forgiveness is a way sticky issue.  It's all up to the individual, and the crime.

Check out the “Nuremburg Trials”.

Positive and powerful.  Forgiveness is a great word... For (first) give (offering)
Savored these thoughts.
