.

Only God knows
How close and often
I came to losing you

We lie here quietly
As one as the sun
From his own love
Slowly rises in the East

Red and blue
Green and gold
We’ve grown
Together
You and I
Even closer
With the years

Sparrows flutter
Past the window
On their way
To another day

Look Dearest
How waves of light
Lap the edges of our shore

.

I'm touched by the way you contrast the eternal, rising of the sun with the ephemeral fluttering of sparrows. You lead me to believe in something which I've often doubted: less is more.
