you said it was much more than I knew
as if I was at your window watching
and your back was turned on purpose
with your hands hidden somewhere playful

I had hoped from the start it was more
but didn't want to mention the hope stuff
since we both know how it can get on one
and leave them sticky enough to pick up pricks

from the thorns they have always run into
so I took it pretty slow in my estimation
although you kicked off your shoes to run
and looked down at me from your favorite tree

perhaps it was your smile that gave permission
for me to wait for you to climb back down
you said just to cover my eyes with something
since I was watching the slip of your hesitation

and would I fall inside of you, just like a lover

Sometimes I just sit back and appreciate the beauty of your poetry. I love the way you use words and how they flow. I really enjoy the riddles among the messages of your poems
