Perish not thou flame unconquered
Never thy light shall extinguish
Nor the sheltering warmth remove
This may be a most impossible wish

Behold the countenance of time
Smiles upon maidens and minstrel knights
Beaming down like the midday sun
And the day always descends into night

Thy seed remains ever to rise again
Such a sweet smile of a mystery
Thy light beckons to the shadow and the mist
A tower of strength for all to see

We close our eyes, to forgive and forget
With body stilled and breath bated
To dream perhaps, just for awhile
Of the new dawn for which we waited

And thou flame eternal rekindles
Candle of hope and profound wisdom
For that time which seems darkest
Forever signals a new kingdom come

Enjoyed the tune of this composition and its profound message.

Very lovely.

I believe this to be one of my favorites, that you have written.

Clear, strong and timeless.
