In Memory of My Daughter
Sheril Lynn
February 3,1964 - December 22,1998

From your first breath to your last
from your first step until you could no more
the beat of my heart, the joy in my day.

Your laughter like a chorus from above
graced, nourished and sustained
all who were lucky enough to cross your path.

There were no good-byes on that day
in the midst of winter for your last smile
revealed the coming of the next spring.

As if it was a dream
in that final moment
you briefly soared so pale and worn.
Suddenly the moment glistened
as your windblown purity
became once again young and musical
free from pain, clean of soul.

God reached out His gentle hand
and led you home
from whence you came yet still
you’re felt everywhere
you’re part of everything:
every sunrise, every sunset
every bird’s song every
flower that blooms...
they’re all a part of you.

Journey onward my lovely daughter,
travel the great dimensions of time and know,
always and forever, how I love you,
and how I thank God for the beauty of the time
He lent you to me.

Clearing a huge throat lump.
What a tender way to embrace your daughter's spirit and memory.

Of this Great Earth we are born, our bodies are but a small wonder of creation,
but our souls abound in glory and are timeless in the vastness of the universe.

May you look into the night skies, and see that one star that shines more brightly than before, for there you will feel the spirit of your departed, shining down on you.

Wonderful tribute, and touching write.

Marcia, this is a beautiful poem of memories and the love you have for your daughter. It brought tears to my eyes, that you suffered such a loss. I am so sorry.
